Edward C. Baig bio


Edward Baig is the Personal Tech columnist for the Money section of USA Today, reviewing the latest gizmos, gadgets and consumer tech trends. Baig also writes tech features on topics ranging from the future of robotics in the home to push-to-talk cellphones, and he holds online chats with his readers.

Having received his bachelor's degree in political science from York College at the City University of New York and his MBA from Adelphi University (1982), Baig worked for Fortune Magazine from 1978-1990, where he covered leisure industries among other topics. He created Fortune's Products to Watch column and was deeply involved in the America's Most Admired Companies project. In 1990, Baig moved to US News & World Report in Washington, DC, as an associate editor covering personal technology.

From 1993-1999, Baig worked as the Personal Business department editor at Business Week in New York, NY, and Washington, DC. As department editor, Baig was responsible for covering personal technology, personal finance, collecting and careers. He won Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism Award for "Best Feature on a Personal Finance Topic" in 1999.
